6 a-side tournament Rules

1. All players taking part must have their names and date of birth on the official registration from. Players must play in their appropriate age group as at league registration for the season 2007/08 and fulfil the requirements for playing in the Nuneaton & Bedworth League for the season 2007/08

2. All teams entered in the Morning Sessions must be registered no later than 08:30am. Teams entered for the afternoon Sessions must be registered no later than 2:00pm

3. Players listed on the official registration forms are only permitted to play for the team that the form relates to (ANY PLAYER FOUND TO BE REPRESENTING ANY OTHER TEAM THAN HE/SHE IS REGISTERED WITH WILL BE DISQUALIFIED).

4. The Tournament will be run on a league basis. 2 points a win and 1 point for a draw to determine the semi-finalists and then on a Knockout basis

5. Each squad shall consist of no more than 9 players

6. Each team will consist of 6 players

7. If a is not present at their appointed kick off time they will forfeit the game as a 1-0 loss and the opposing team will be awarded the 2 points

8. Substitutions can be made any time during the game on a roll on roll off basis. The referee’s attention must be obtained when a change is being made, however the game will not be stopped.

9. Each game will have duration of 9 minutes, with NO half time, with the exception of the Under 7 and Under 8 age groups where the duration will be 7 minutes.

10. If two or more teams are tied (points) at the end of the league section of the tournament then places will be decided by the following – Goal difference and if still all square then the team with most goals scored. If still all square the respective teams will play off in games of 5 minutes duration, with the golden goal rule applying. If the game is still all square, the game will be decided on penalty kicks, 5 per team and then sudden death.

11. The semi final of the tournament will be 15 minutes duration. 71/2 minutes each way. An interval of 2 minutes at half time will be permitted.

12. If the semi final or final is all square at full time then five minutes extra time will be played. If the game is still all square the game will be decided on penalty kicks, 5 per team and then sudden death.

 13. The offside rule WILL NOT apply

 14. A throw on from the sideline will be permitted as per 11 a-side rules.

 15. Corners will be taken in line with FA rulings.

 16. Goal Kicks will be taken from the goal line – (For U7 & U8 age groups the goal kicks will be taken from the edge of the penalty area)

 17. The goalkeeper may only throw the ball (Under 13 and older age groups may not release the ball above shoulder height).

 18. Drop kicks are not permitted (except for the Under 7 and Under 8 age groups).

 19. The Goalkeeper is allowed outside of his/her designated area to kick the ball clear.

 20. If a penalty is awarded then it will be taken inline with FA rulings

 21. A player who is dismissed from the field of play by the referee will be disqualified from the tournament and no substitute shall be allowed for that game. The player’s squad will be then reduced by 1 for the rest of the tournament.

22. In the event of a team failing to turn up – All other teams in that group will be awarded a 1- 0 win and 2 points.

 23. The referee’s decision shall be final. (The referee’s job is hard enough, they don’t need or deserve any detrimental comments, so if you have nothing good to say, SAY NOTHING!)

 24. All managers and members of all teams taking part in the tournament will be answerable to the tournament officials and any decision taken by officials will be final.
